Instrumental Demo (sounds pretty good except I can't play bass)

Read all about it, never mind the extra part
Skim through the headlines, disappear into the work of art
Hey, have you heard the new conspiracy theory
That everything that’s always happened will continue to?
Where do these nutjobs come up with this stuff?
Guess the funny thing about inconvenient truths
Is that there’s nothing more convenient than a lie
Lies are the easiest thing in the world to buy
So you’ll form a collection, ‘cause you like the way they look
Filling every gap in your mind out your favorite book
If ignorance is bliss, you know you would be remiss
To let a stormcloud spoil your fun
I say they should’ve sold
Floaties just off the dock while they were boarding Noah’s ark
For those of us who’ve committed to a good old life in the dark
Well, I may have tried to burn that boat down
While you built it up, but that don’t mean I want to drown
By the way, it’s not my fault
Man, am I crazy, or are there a whole lot of leopards
Eating everybody’s faces lately?
Who could’ve possibly imagined this would occur?
Not a single one of us ever asked for this
All we did was vote for the Leopards Who Eat Faces Party
Some would chalk this up to an honest mistake
‘Preciate the concern, but I don’t make mistakes
Some warnings turn out legit, but it turns out I don’t give a shit
‘Cause life’s too short for learning things
That’s why they should’ve sold
Floaties just off the dock while they were boarding Noah’s ark
For us folks who’ve been grandfathered into a sad, dull life in the dark
I lambasted the forecast in the past
Flabbergasted by overcast, alas
It’s still not my fault
And it will never be if I don’t let it be
Blame anything you want, as long as I get off scot-free
And I am blameless, sure as I’m shameless
A pawn of circumstance who shall remain completely nameless
And I’m free, oh yes I’m free
Fully immunized against responsibility
And we’re all free to simply be
So I decide to be an anchor, and I’ll drag you down with me
It’s too bad we don’t get
Floaties when we reject an answer and decide to take our chances instead
Could be you’ll come across a problem too difficult to solve in your head
It’s almost like we’re all on one big team
And if we dream big enough, we can pull it off
But oh well, it’s not your fault
And it’s not my problem
